It is a very exciting time to be a UK fan! or is it? Last night, the Kentucky Wildcats took down the No. 1 Seed team in their bracket (65-63) Kentucky is now head to play the always dangerous Notre Dame Fighting Irish this coming Wednesday. That is the good news. The bad news is that every second of every day is that "Gillespie will be here next year" or "Gillespie is FIRED!"
Here is what I am thinking, IF Gillespie is TRUELY going to be our coach next year, then Mitch Barnhardt or President Lee Todd needs to step up and squash the rumors now. IT IS ONLY HURTING THE TEAM AND THE REPUTATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY AND IT'S LOYAL FANS!" If he is gone, LET THE RECRUITS & FANS KNOW!
I really hope that the right decision is made, either way, UK basketball may be jepordized whatever decision is decided upon.

Around the Net:
Larry Vaught is reporting that the Mitch and Lee show will be at the Creighton game tonight, making their appearance at the NIT contest. This is likely symbolic of nothing but is all we have as we approach game time.
In other “news”, Dave Kersey says that Gillispie has been fired. Dont know who Dave Kersey is? Well he is a long-time internet “insider” that goes back to the olden days on message boards. He posts now on Maggard’s site and he (apparently along with another “insider”) are now on the Gillispie is gone side.
Here was Dave’s post on Kentucky Sports Report:
It makes me sick that some could think I’m playing two sides of a fiddle. I’ve come out on record that I believed every single word of my sentiment that Coach would stay put.
Unfortunately, I’ve just had it confirmed that he has been fired. I am sick to my stomach, literally, over this.
In fact, I don’t even feel like watching tonight’s game. I am heartbroken over this. I’ll tell you that my source of information is a team member, and he either didn’t know the truth, which I doubt, or he was told to avoid the truth, which makes more sense. That source was the one who led me to believe that all would come out well for Gillispie. Sports Mob Radio Blog
